Why Art?
My World, Through My Eyes
I've always been quiet, an observer, not a speaker.
Attention isn't my language, my art is.
You'll never see me addressing crowds or surrounded by friends, I thrive in solitude.
Since I was 15, I've seen the world through the lens of derealization and visual snow.
This unique perception has become my artistic signature.
It forces me to not just see the world, but to constantly reinterpret it. Where others find certainty,
I find only surreality.
My art bridges these worlds, translating the invisible into something tangible. Each piece is a dialogue between what is, and what I see.
What began as rupture, losing myself and everything familiar,
has now become my purest artistic language.
My mind is in "observer mode," I see my thoughts without identifying with them. "If I am not my thoughts, then who am I?" Answer: I am simply me, the ego is an illusion. You are perception, essentially separate from your ego, but your body connects the two. You are the one reading these lines RIGHT NOW, before the thought "I am reading" arises... and I live in this right now.
My name is Niklas Nickel, i'm 18 years old and this is my explanation of my World.
